Journey of the Universe: Chapters 8-11
Although no one is 100% sure where people came from, theories can be made and there is proof that there was a species which walked on two feet rather than four just as humans do. The brains of the species continued to grow bigger and bigger and as time went on they left Africa and went to other continents. Animals react quicker than humans and would probably run for their lives sooner than the humans would think to do. I found it interesting how the megafauna disappeared from the Americas. My personal thought is that the humans that were there hunted the big animals often. It interests me how humans had symbolic codes of civilization and what they meant. Soon, humans became more advanced and started using an abundant amount of resources and populations increased rapidly. I found it extremely interesting how Jupiter, Venus, and Mars were thought to be balls of dead matter. I also found the topic of molten rocks being transformed into monarch butterflies and blue herons very interesting. Today, we live in an industrialized world. I completely agree when the author says that we can always count on the stars because they are there for guidance. I do believe that everything is interconnected as the book said and that the last two pages of the book felt like it was really speaking to you.
